Welcome to The Parrot and Bird Emporium
Dedicated to Empowering Bird Enthusiasts with Expert Care and Training.
A Unique Haven for Bird Lovers
At The Parrot and Bird Emporium, we offer hand-tamed birds, including Macaws, African Greys, Amazon Parrots, Quakers, Parakeets, Lovebirds, Conures, and Cockatiels, in a tropical setting. You will feel as though you have just arrived in a peaceful, Zen-like place where you are allowed to interact with these beautiful creatures … When you are ready to purchase a baby. We have established a community of individuals who share our appreciation for these remarkable creatures. We invite you to come in and experience the difference.
The Parrot and Bird Emporium hand-raises all its birds. This is truly a labor of love, commitment, patience, and a nurturing spirit. This early investment, made in the first few months of life, pays off in the form of a deep, trusting bond and a healthy social companion.
After selecting your baby parrot, you may find that it is not yet ready to go home. We invite you to participate in their growth by visiting and observing them as they transition from hand-feeding formula to pellets and healthy snacks. Our team will guide you through each step of this process. As a new owner, you will have the opportunity to grow and learn your baby parrot. We offer a spacious visiting room and encourage frequent visits, allowing family members to meet the new addition. This interaction benefits both you and your parrot. When your baby is ready to go home, we sit down with you for approximately forty-five minutes to share your bird’s schedule, diet, and specific needs. We provide all this information in writing, along with your bird disease test results and veterinary exam. No question is too small, so our customers can always reach us by phone. Our staff will ensure a smooth transition from our care to yours.
All our babies are vet-checked and disease-tested to ensure they are healthy. After purchase, it is your responsibility to schedule yearly vet visits to maintain your parrot’s wellbeing. We also offer a vet clinic every three months with Dr. Anne Bourke, DVM. This allows you to schedule a wellness visit at your convenience.

Expert Guidance in Bird Care and Training
Discover our range of personalized bird care services, designed with your feathered friends in mind.
Boarding Your Bird
Royal Treatment for your feathered friend while you are away, with our Long and Short term avian boarding! All boarding birds must have their current health certificate for the safety of all of our Avian friends. All birds must arrive in a carrier. You must prove proof of a culture within the past 12 months, and psittacosis testing within the past two years is also required. If you have tested your bird recently using our services, your file will be stored, and no proof is needed. All drop-offs and pick-ups are by appointment. We provide cages or you can bring your own, with perches. Bring at least two toys for your bird’s entertainment, as mental stimulation is very important and provide anything to make your bird’s stay comfortable.

Wing and Nail Clipping
We take great care to clip the feathers required for lift, so that the bird may flutter and land gently without getting too high or too far. Wing trims are neither painful nor permanent, and trimmed flight feathers will molt over time, allowing for new flight feathers to grow in their place.
Nail Trimming is not always an easy task for bird owners, especially if the bird is not used to the procedure. A quick nail trim now and then can help prevent foot problems with your bird and it will help protect your furniture and valuables. You can rest assured that your bird’s nails will be trimmed correctly and quickly.

Feeding Guidance
Be imaginative. Be persistent, Be patient. – If your bird won’t eat carrots cooked, try grating raw carrots into other food he likes. If he doesn’t like his pasta with sauce, offer it to him plain. Sweet potatoes and yams can be cooked and mashed or fed raw or grated into other foods. Muffins are excellent hiding places for veggies that your bird won’t eat. He’ll never know they’re there. You say your bird loves scrambled egg, but hates greens and carrots? Try tearing the spinach into bits, grating the carrot, and mixing both into the scrambled egg. It takes time but most birds will come around to accepting a better diet. The most important thing to remember is: don’t give up. Contact us for more guidance.

What an amazing group of people. They are so knowledgeable and truly are dedicated to the happiness of both the bird and owner. We just bought our third bird from the Emporium. They were all just as excited as we were. We are so fortunate to have this small business in our area. If you are thinking of getting a bird, the Bird and Parrot Emporium is the only place to go. Thank you for all you do.
