A flock of sun conures flying across an evening sky was once said to have resembled a beautiful sunset.  Hence, the name sun conure was assigned to the species.  The sun conure's body color possesses a yellow-orange glow with a distinct resmeblance to gold.  The brilliant blend of yellow, orange, red, blue, and green colors means sun conures outshine most other birds in appearance.

Endearing, charming, playful and personality plus packaged into a vibrant bundle of feathers... that's a Sun Conure!   Sun Conures are playful, energetic, and acrobatic. They can often seen hanging from their cage or toys.  Intelligent and eager to learn, they pick up tricks quickly, love attention and cuddles, and are fond of snuggling up to their companions.

The Sun Conure possesses a multifaceted personality that will delight the experienced bird owner and pique the curiosity of the inexperienced nonbird person.  They can be best described as curious, inquisitive, active and playful.  They make great family birds.  They may be wary of strangers and new sounds or things in the environment.  Sun Conures can be very noisy, and typically have a poor talking ability. Not recommended for apartments.

DIET: Diet consists of a pelleted blend, veggies, fruits, nuts, and seeds as treats. A small amount of white meat, such as chicken is occasionally welcomed as well, as is completely cooked egg.
